How to Create a Rubric

Rubrics are used to provide feedback to story and conversation assignments.


1. Select My Library from the top menu bar and then select Rubrics from the dropdown menu.


2. From your rubric library, select Create Rubric in the top right.


3. Change the Rubric Name. The name will be used to identify the rubric when creating assignment.


4. By default, the rubric will have a single 4-point criterion with the point values/descriptors 4-Excellent, 3-Good, 2-Satisfactory, 1-Needs Improvement. Begin by changing the criterion title and description. 


5. If you want additional descriptors, select the Plus button in the middle of the criterion.


6. Adjust the point values and descriptions for each descriptor as desired.


7. After adjusting the criterion and descriptors, select Add Criterion to add additional criteria if desired. Repeat steps 4-6 to edit the criteria and descriptors.


8. After adding and editing all desired criteria, select Save in the bottom right.


9. Congratulations! After selecting Save, the rubric will be added to your rubric library. You can review, edit, and delete the rubric from your rubric library.
